I offer Mediation services to help families craft parenting plans and dissolutions that serve the best interests of the children and help avoid costly, acrimonious, court battles. Mediated agreements are a springboard to repairing and improving damaged co-parenting relationships.
Facilitative mediation allows the parties in a dispute come to their own agreement regarding the dispute. The mediator helps keep everyone focused on solving issues, staying present and future focused, identifying and clarifying needs, addressing power imbalances, and finding areas of commonality. In the case of parenting plan disputes, the “best interests of the child(ren)” is the main organizing principle. Issues beyond best interest of the child—such as fairness, autonomy, and preserving opportunities for each parent—also matter greatly.
Trained by the Community Dispute Resolution Center in Missoula, MT, I have experience providing court mandated mediation sessions at the Justice Court. I am not an attorney, and will not give legal advice or direction in the case. My expertise is facilitating agreements that truly meet the best needs of the child in the near, middle, and long term.
My extensive work as a Guardian ad Litem, family therapist, reunification counselor, and couples therapist provides the professional experience to facilitate agreements that meet the needs of all participants.
My rate is $150/hour for actual mediation time, preparation, and writing up agreements reached in mediation sessions.
